All the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) requirements to become a “Certified Assisted Living Manager” (CALM) are met by taking this one course: LTCE 124 Texas Assisted Living Manager Certification.
This course includes both the DADS-required 8 hours training in the Texas assisted living regulations and the DADS-required 16 ceu course hours training in the Domains: Management, Human Resources, Finance, Environment and Resident Care. The course is NAB ceus approved and DADS approved as a complete training certification.
Upon completion of LTCE 124 you will receive the certificate you need to display on your wall verifying that you are a Texas Certified Assisted Living Administrator.
This is an online course. There are 17 written assignments (answered online) which cover the knowledge base for certification as a Texas Certified Assisted Living Administrator (CALM).
The assignments cover: management, human resources, resident care, finances, ethics, the Texas assisted living facility regulations, Texas rules for Advance Directives, Consent to Medical Treatment and Residents Bill of Rights.
You can complete the course online at your own pace. There is no time period within which the course must be completed. In accordance with §92.41 you must provide proof of either graduation from High School or a GED before the certificate will be issued.
